The Blunham Cricket Club playing achievements during the 2012 season were accompanied by more ground improvements, especially at Roxton and the new nets at Blunham. Notable highlight of last season was winning the midweek Hospital Cup, with a thrilling 9-wicket win in the final. This was made an even sweeter win, when the records show that Blunham LOST the final of Hospital Cup in 1937 - so finally the cup was claimed by Blunham, 75 years after our last appearance in the final of that competition !
Blunham also reached the final of the Heritage Cup, but ultimately losing to Flitwick. The weather last season was one of our biggest opponents, with many matches being lost to rain. We are hoping for better things on the weather front, next season. On Sundays in 2013, we have sides competing in the Bedfordshire County Cricket League, with the first XI in the Premier Division for the very first time, and the 2nd and 3rd XI's in divisions three and four respectively. on Saturdays the 1st and 2nd XI's will play in the Huntingdonshire County Cricket League, divisions one and three respectively, whilst the 3rd and 4th teams will be playing in the more local Bedfordshire Invitation League.

When produced, an application form to join or to renew your membership of Blunham Cricket Club for 2013 will be able to be downloaded from this website.

CLICK HERE to read our chairman's report at the close of the 2012 season, which was (again) a memorable season, and more details of those historic cup wins and final appearances are given by the Chariman. Also, the report gives details of the new nets and the recruitment of our first overseas player, from South Africa, as well as details of the Summer 2012 tour to Norfolk, so do please download and read it.

The Youth squad continues to flourish, with fantastic spirit throughout the various age groups. If you are in school years 3 - 9 (boys AND girls !!) and would like excellent youth training to play in official leagues against other local villages and towns (mainly on Sunday mornings), then do visit our Youth Section BY CLICKING HERE.

On Saturdays in 2013, the first and second teams will again be playing in the Huntingdonshire County League, whilst the 3rd XI team and the Blunham/Roxton team (4th XI) playing in the more local Bedfordshire Invitation Saturday League. On Sundays, we will again have three teams in the Bedfordshire County league. On most weekend days, one of the sides will be usually playing at our home ground in Barford Road, Blunham, or at the second ground in Roxton. Our home ground and facilities are carefully maintained by the Blunham Playing Fields Association, so please come along and support the teams at our newly re-furbished facilities. For anyone living in Blunham, the ground is only a gentle stroll away, and you'd be made most welcome.

The senior sides also play in the mid week leagues and cup competitions, so are often seen playing on summer weekday evenings. By clicking on the buttons on the left you can learn more about the club, it's history and the various activities that the club undertakes.

For example, on Friday 26th August 2011, we held a special match against the internationally famous Lashings World XI side. Despite the weather (!), photos of the cricketing star-studded day can be seen by CLICKING HERE

The 2012 season was full of thrills and spills (not to mention a new world record) and 2013 will no doubt prove to be just as exciting as last season, so why not come along in 2013 (especially when there's a home match) and lend your support (or any other surgical equipment you may have going spare...) ?

By clicking on the buttons on the left, you can also read humourous (but more or less factual !) archived match reports from the 2003 - 2010 seasons. You can also link directly across to our official ECB Play-Cricket Website, to see the fixtures and results for this season, or leave a message in our guestbook. Photos from the club's long history can also be linked to.
